In an ongoing relationship, I work closely with Iwona Tenzing of Tenzing Asian Art to produce graphic and digital design collateral for her small business. Our work is centered around Tenzing Asian Art’s annual showings at Fine Arts Asia and Asia Week New York. These advertisements are placed in Orientations and Arts of Asia magazines, both Hong Kong-based publications. I also create their display booth technical layouts, gallery labels (English and Mandarin), email campaigns, and social media posts. Central to these ads are Vincent Dufournier’s photographs of the figures in Tenzing’s collection. As we’ve progressed, I now set the figures at their actual size (sometimes even as small as 7 cm), relying on a grid in order to maintain the gallery’s clean aesthetic and consistently relay its contact information over time and across differently-formatted magazines.
